Interview with FreshersDirect.com

FreshersDirect.com recently received an undisclosed angel funds from its new partners. The company which was launched in 2006 by techies in Pune has recently invested in face lifting the user experience and new job-skill matching engine.

During a brief talk with Dr. Yogendra Jha, the Managing Director of the company he shared about the roadmap of the company. The company which was initially working in aggregation of jobs has decided to invest in creating enhanced Job to Skill matching engine which would be helpful to both recruiters and candidates. FreshersDirect.com plans to create a association channel with premier institutes in India and plans to build a pool of skilled and industry ready technocrats who can be sourced to software companies quickly.

When asked about the value proposition and revenue model of the company, Dr. Jha emphasized that the company is currently in its gestation phase and their focus is currently to build a strong audience for the portal. They plan to invest in the creating an extensive pool of digital training and skill-testing content which could be used by corporates during employee training and hiring phase.

Dr. Jha is very excited about the opportunity and possibility of success of FreshersDirect.com  He says its a market of $100 million revenue every year and they are focused and confident of establishing themselves in next  2 to 3 years with 10% market share.

When asked about the technology stack for FreshersDirect.com he added that they explored all the possibilities and considered various options like the cheap LAMP solution or the use of opensource CMS solutions  FreshersDirect.com uses Google App Engine to host its application and uses JSP/ Big Table/ Open Auth 2.0 for its application.They have built a proprietary job-skill matching engine for better and effective serving to its users.

FreshersDirect.com is currently focusing in pooling talented candidates from various colleges through in-campus campaigns  Recently they paid visit to Indore and held discussions with colleges under RGPV university. They are hopeful of creating strong pool of 1 Lakh candidates in the year 2013.
