Designation	Software Engineer
Job Description	In this position, you will be participating in all phases of a typical software development lifecycle (pathfinding, requirements, architecture, design, coding, testing, release and deployment) and involved in implementation of enterprise wide factory automation systems (for example, Manufacturing Execution Systems) for Intel factories. You will also be expected to provide 24x7 on-call production support and develop and/or deliver end-user training for products deployed. You will be working as part of a geographically dispersed team.
Desired Profile	You should possess a Bachelor's or a Master's degree in Computer Science and/or Engineering and/or Applications or an equivalent subject with one to two years of industry experience working in software development. Hands on experience in C, C++, DCL and COBOL development on VMS platform is preferred. Additional qualifications include: - Software development life cycle skills (requirements engineering, design, coding, testing, build and/or release management, beta and/or deployment and product support) with experience in various life cycle models such as waterfall, rapid prototyping, spiral and others - Basic C, C++, DCL and COBOL programming expertise on VMS platform - Strong team player and ability to work with diverse cultures as part of geographically dispersed virtual teams - High degree of customer orientation - A self starter in a rapidly changing environment with a steep learning curve and on the job training to deliver software in frequent release cycles - Strong verbal and/or written communication skills and ability to quickly understand the domain and communicate to customers in domain specific terminology - Ability to influence direction using the right use of information and emotion - Data based decision making skills - Problem solving skills using a structured approach - Solid commitment to task (deliver per committed timelines at high quality) - Ability to inspire, influence, empower, motivate and develop team spirit with a 'can-do' approach - Ability to travel to various Intel locations worldwide and working alternate hours to meet business needs - Workstream (on OpenVMS*) engineering and/or modeling experience and experience working in a manufacturing environment, specifically semiconductor industry would be an added advantage - Knowledge of RDB and/or DBMS would be an added advantage - Production debugging expertise for integrated mission critical systems would be an added advantage
